That's simply inexcusable in a commercial product. Have you checked the CKG? Apparently, you add +6 even to the CB if the opposition has a primary attribute. This effectively removes also the advantage of a prime the rolling party might have, making saves practically a 1/20 occurrence. That's simply unacceptable and denotes very sloppy design. At least AD&D had different subsystems which were all internally consistent. SIEGE attempts consistency but it simply doesn't work. I think we are either going to revert to AD&D, or even a simplified 3.0 (which is what C&C should have been.)Antoniohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17258180992723371727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4196099428442104076.post-80718525121582908342013-11-20T07:58:49.307-05:002013-11-20T07:58:49.307-05:00I hear you, Antonio.

Amazing Adventures is the best presentation of it, IMO.<br /><br />However, I'm not a big fan of C&C's saving throw system. More than once, I've plugged in Swords & Wizardry's. Though I've used it as written a good many times if it fit the campaign - little/low magic.Nathanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16708834673967874423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4196099428442104076.post-5197703590540056682013-11-20T06:32:17.344-05:002013-11-20T06:32:17.344-05:00The main problem I have with C&C is the SIEGE ...The main problem I have with C&C is the SIEGE engine, and saving throws in particular. The fact that character level appears on both sides (d20 roll and challenge class) means that a 10th level fighter against a 10th level wizard will not fare better than a 1st level fighter vs. a 1st level wizard. This is exactly NOT how D&D plays. Saving throws being a huge part of D&D dynamics, it's easy to see how C&C doesn't play like D&D (any version) at all. Generally decreasing saving throws in (A)D&D were needed since the higher level spells and monster abilities where much more powerful than lower level ones. In C&C instead, if you meet an high level spellcaster (actually, she being your level is enough) you are essentially toast if you don't have a prime attribute for the save.Antoniohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17258180992723371727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4196099428442104076.post-36424573712186077572013-10-07T20:30:47.902-04:002013-10-07T20:30:47.902-04:00I'd be all over that.I'd be all over that.Nathanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16708834673967874423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4196099428442104076.post-84000553515983135462013-10-07T20:02:53.619-04:002013-10-07T20:02:53.619-04:00I think the players handbook could use a tightenin...I think the players handbook could use a tightening up, and new artwork, Bradley is a good artist but his vision is too high medieval for my tastes.
